A native of Washington, DC Jeri A. Dyson, M.D. is an adolescent medicine
physician specializing in sexuality, intimacy and effective teen-parent
communication. In her current position as Founding President of Global Girls Global Women, Inc. Dr. Jeri devotes her full time to national and global programs for girls and women. Known as one of today’s foremost thinkers of global teen health, Dr. Jeri has more than 20 years of experience and brings real-life issues to the table with her practical and engaging lectures. A dynamic speaker for audiences of all ages, her focus is to raise awareness on the growing number of global issues displacing girls and women.
Dr. Jeri’s life motto "Pursue Your Purpose with Passion” has led to many
outstanding life experiences. She was the medical expert for BET’s Rap-It-Up HIV/AIDS Campaign and has made television appearances on Trinity
Broadcasting Network (TBN), Fox 5 Good Day DC and The CW Network. Dr.
Dyson was the radio host of Dr. Jeri Speaks Talk Show highlighting "HOT TEEN TOPICS" and featured well respected national guest experts.
Dr. Dyson received her undergraduate degree from Xavier University of Louisiana and her medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Dyson completed Pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit. She also completed a dual fellowship program in Adolescent Medicine and Sexually Transmitted Diseases at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Dyson served as a civilian physician at the Walter Reed Military Medical Center for 5 years. Her passion for girl empowerment and women’s health have led her to various countries including Ghana, Gambia and Senegal, West Africa. She was also sent to Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Trinidad & Tobago by the U.S. State Department to lecture and develop programs addressing the needs of their youth and women.
Dr. Dyson's highly anticipated book, An Apple A Day Keeps the Drama Away
was released in 2013. Her next book, "House of Hormones" will address the issues of family members at different stages of life living under one roof. From puberty to geriatrics it’s sure to be a page turner.
Dr. Jeri currently resides in the Washington metropolitan area.
